Scott M. Palyo, M.D.

Scott Palyo is a board-certified, child and adolescent psychiatrist working in private practice at New York Psychiatry and Therapy PC in Greenwich Village. New York Psychiatry and Therapy provides comprehensive evaluations for medication management, psychotherapy and neuropsych testing. In addition to overseeing this group practice, Scott is a co-founder of Empowerment Life Skills Coaching which aims to deliver individual support to children, teens and adults for life skills and Executive Function Coaching. 

Scott is an assistant professor in psychiatry at Ichan School of Medicine at Mt Sinai School and a psychoanalytic candidate at NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. Dr. Palyo attended Emory University and University of Texas and completed his psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry residencies at St. Vincent’s Hospital/New York Medical College. Following residency, he completed a congressional fellowship sponsored by the medical association working with Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI). Professionally, Dr. Palyo is involved with the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association and American Medical Association. 

Previously, Dr. Palyo was the Medical Director at Safe Horizon Counseling Center, which is a clinic devoted to the treatment of victims of crimes, and was a faculty member at NYU School of Medicine and New York Medical College. Following residency he had experiences covering inpatient psychiatric units, consult services and Emergency Rooms in New York City as well as in a community health program evaluating homeless men and women.
