A Complete Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Evaluation at NYPT consists of three distinct sessions: A 90-minute session with the parents/guardians of the patient, a 45 minute session with the patient, and a 45-minute follow up session with both parents/guardians and the patient to explain the diagnosis and proposed treatment plan.
Medication Management and/or Therapy*
(30-45 min)
*Follow-Up Appointments
In follow up appointments for Medication Management and/or Therapy, an NYPT provider will monitor progress of the medications prescribed in the initial appointment. There is an option to combine talk therapy during this time to maximize treatment in addition to the prescribed medication.
Neuropsychological
Testing
Neuropsychological Testing is concerned with how the brain functions, and how these functions may influence an individual’s cognition and behavior in their daily life. Neuropsychological testing can help to identify strengths and weaknesses within the brain, and therefore aid in the diagnosis of conditions such as ADHD, executive functioning deficits, learning disabilities, autism, and mood disorders.
Return to School Clearance (180 min)
Return to School Clearance is available for students that need an evaluation and clearance to return to school. Initial evaluations are 180 minutes ($1,800) and include a parent meeting, student meeting, recommendations, medication management (if recommended), a letter to the school, and speaking with the school. Follow up appointments are 45 minutes ($350).
